    • 1). Click the "Start" menu button. Type "gpedit.msc" (without the quotes), and press "Enter." Windows may ask for permission to continue. Click "Continue" if you see that message. The Group Policy Editor will open.

    • 2). Click the arrow next to the "User Configuration" folder to expand the folder.

    • 3). Click the arrow next to "Administrative Templates" to reveal that folder's contents.

    • 4). Double-click "System." A list of settings appears on the right side of the editor.

    • 5). Double-click the setting named "Prevent Access to Registry Editing Tools." A dialog window opens.

    • 6). Click the "Disabled" radio button. Click "OK" to apply the change.

    • 7). Click "File," and then click "Exit" to exit the Group Policy Editor.
